Debunking Myths: Fat makes you Fat?
This is FALSE.
We need fat in our diets to live and function as much as we need water. Fats helps us to:
- Absorb certain nutrients
- Maintain core body temperature
- Aids in decreasing the risk of high cholesterol. It’s a heart helping tool
At a minimum, we need 10% of calories from fat in our diet. Don’t be afraid to eat fats! The problem lies in our choices and quantity (eating too much).

Oils: Olive or canola
|Saturated fats: fried foods, butter, baked goods, dessert, ice cream

In summary: You need Fats! Include healthy fats in your diet & balance it out with our lean protein and carbohydrates.
