Congratulations to our November 2016 Athlete of the Month!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m 45 years old. Mother of two kiddos, Craig 21 and Iva 18. Recently married to Maston back in May of this year. What a year! I work in the ER and absolutely love being a nurse. My hobbies include CrossFit, Motorcycles and I love to dance and laugh.
What brought you to CrossFit?
My coworker began doing CrossFit in my neighborhood with others a couple of years ago. I joined and loved it. Last fall I joined CrossFit Hays and began to really work out consistently with good equipment and superb coaching. I’m hooked.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
A little over two years intermittently. I began working out 4 – 5 times per week in August of this year.
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?
It’s a whole new level of fitness. It’s always challenging. I have built and continue to build cardiac endurance. I have muscles in places I didn’t know I could grow a muscle. I eat cleaner than I ever have in my whole life – and I feel good!! My body feels different. An awesome type of different!
Favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
Back squats and anything we do as a team.
Least favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit.
I want to improve my form and increase my weight on overhead squats to 55lb. A small goal but it’s mine! And I would like to do that by January 1, 2017.
