Congratulations to our May 2017 Athlete of the Month!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I grew up in the little town of Blanco, TX. Love CrossFit and have one furr baby that I take with me as many places as I can.
What brought you to CrossFit?
I had been looking for something different than that of “body builder” gym. I tried CrossFit since I heard nothing but great things from anyone that has done it. I tried it and believe me it was intimidating but I kept coming back for more.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
For about 7 years, on and off.
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?
CrossFit has made me more competitive, has made me reach higher levels of fitness than I could of imagined. I am so much stronger than I thought I could be. It has also made me more social overall and given me a second family.
Favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
Squats, I feel like my legs are the strongest so I am better at that.
Least favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
Recently I have come to find that I hate sled pushes 🙂 Either that or rowing (I’m too short to be good at it).
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit.
I would like to improve or accomplish all gymnastic movements and increase my strength.
Anything else you want to add.
I enjoy CrossFit and the CrossFit Hays peeps. I have tried other gyms looking for a family similar to the box I used to attend. I found some very “interesting” and frustrating experiences but none could compare until I came upon CrossFit Hays. Never felt more at home!
