Congratulations to our June 2018 Athlete of the Month!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am an aspiring comedian, so about 1 in 13 jokes I tell are actually funny. You’ll definitely want me on your team for game night though! I keep myself out of trouble by working hard at my sales job and remodeling our home with my husband.
What brought you to CrossFit?
We have a gym at home, and I work from home. Getting out of my house is a key to my fitness success. In addition, we are taking a trip to Germany with our best friends, and I need to be in photo shape!
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I have been doing CrossFit regularly since March, but my first experience with CrossFit was 5 years ago on a beautiful 105-degree Texas July day – a class my wonderful husband signed us up for. I thought I was going to throw up and die. Not sure how I ended up back here, but I’m happy I did!
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?
CrossFit has changed my outlook on fitness. I now look forward to coming to work out. I enjoy that every day is different with a new challenge to face. I debate nightly if I should check the next day’s WOD.
Favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
My favorite movement is the Goodbye Wave after completing a WOD.
Least favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
Burpees, isn’t that everyone’s?
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit.
I would like to compete in a CrossFit competition and maybe tackle a handstand push up.
